[00:00.00]Oh, very cool
[00:00.88]Well, I say let’s go ahead and, and dive into this album
[00:03.64]Because there’s some songs on here that I had a lot of fun
[00:06.60]Thinking about what I wanted to ask you
[00:08.24]And listening to ’em ’cause I was really studying the lyrics
[00:11.29]And listening to everything
[00:12.61]Now first of all we’re gonna talk about “Hide The Wine”
[00:14.76]I love this song because to me it was kind of like a twist
[00:17.56]On a single woman’s drunk dial, uh
[00:20.96]You’ve gotta guy who you know if you start drinking
[00:23.92]You’re gonna start making all the wrong decisions that you’ll regret
[00:26.45]So talk to me a little bit about “Hide The Wine”
[00:28.93]And have been in this place?
[00:31.32]So I love red wine and I feel like everybody knows that at this point
[00:35.54]And actually was pitched this song
[00:39.00]This is one that I didn’t write that Hillary Lindsey who’s an amazing songwriter wrote
[00:42.70]And my publisher Daniel pitched it to me about a year and a half ago
[00:46.82]When I didn’t have anything going on
[00:48.02]He’s like, “Hey, I just want you to hear this song”
[00:50.73]And from the moment it started I’m looking at him like, “Uh, yeah, I want this song”
[00:54.69]And he looked at me, and he said, “Uhm, well it’s on hold for another artist”
[00:58.48]And I’m like, “Why did you play me this song if I can’t have it?”
[01:01.97]And he’s like, “I just think that we need to listen to this
[01:04.86]And find you something like this ’cause from a production standpoint
[01:08.51]From the way she’s singing the lyrics”, just
[01:10.54]It had this kind of grassy feel to it that I grew up loving
[01:14.04]And, was in a bluegrass band
[01:15.66]And just what it says it’s just a fun song
[01:18.89]I don’t know I just think like you said, I think so many girls my age
[01:22.48]And women have been there, and it’s just like a fun kind of strong way
[01:25.50]Of saying it for women, I think the drunk dial
[01:28.49]Well, yeah, like I love that line, uhm
[01:30.26]”It’s a dangerous thing pouring alcohol in an old flame”
[01:33.34]I thought how clever is that (right?)
[01:35.49]What a great line
[01:36.89]And uh I also I love the reference of Trader Joe’s, Two-Buck Chuck
[01:41.13]Live, people go crazy over that that’s like their favorite line
[01:44.00]Yeah, it’s like, who doesn’t know that?
[01:45.26]Everybody’s been there
[01:46.19]But, you know, before we get to playing the song
[01:47.78]I wondered, uhm, I know that you are still learning but you are a wine enthusiast
[01:52.59]So I have to ask your favorite type of wine?
[01:54.95]And do you have a favorite wine or a go to that you can share with people?
[01:58.40]Yes, I certainly do
[02:00.11]Well, first of all the only kind for me is red
[02:03.89]And I love Cabernet
[02:05.31]I used to really like Pinot Noir, but I think the older I get
[02:08.22]The more I like just dry full-bodied wine
[02:10.20]So I have two on the spectrum here
[02:12.53]So my cheap go to red wine is called Freakshow
[02:16.15]And it is awesome
[02:17.70]But it’s like a really crazy label looks like a circus kind of but it’s awesome
[02:22.33]I get it at Publix
[02:23.82]And, uhm, my splurge wine a.k.a. when busbee wants to buy me wine
[02:29.05]Which is, you know when we’ve finished the album
[02:31.52]And Scott Borchetta has given it to me a few times
[02:34.47]’Cause he knows I like it um it’s Caymus
[02:37.80]C-A-Y-M-U-S, it is definitely not in my price range
[02:42.19]But, oh, my goodness, it is awesome
[02:44.35]So if anybody wants to get you a gift, Caymus
[02:46.88]Gift to me Caymus please
[02:48.99]Any of, any of the years I’ll take it
[02:51.05]Alright, well, I say let’s go ahead and get into this first song
[02:54.14]It’s got some attitude it’s called “Hide The Wine” off Carly Pearce’s debut album
[02:58.04]”Every Little Thing”, which is available now and this is Big Machine Radio
[03:01.44]Year of Release: 2017
